The risks of getting a tattoo
Getting a tattoo is a risk, so make sure you inform your tattoo artist if you are taking any medication or have any skin problems, allergies, epilepsy or are hypersensitive.
Do not get a tattoo:
Do not get a tattoo: - If you have undergone plastic surgery or radiation in the last year on the area you want to get a tattoo on.
- On a scar that you've had for less than a year.
- On an area that was tattooed less than six weeks ago.
- On an area that has been exposed to laser treatment in the last three months or the scarring after the laser has not yet healed.
– On irritated skin with bruises, pigment spots or swelling.
– Under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
– During pregnancy or breastfeeding.
In addition,
It is not recommended to get a tattoo if you have any of the following:
- Diabetes
- Haemophilia
– Chronic skin disease
– Allergy to tattoo material or paint
- Heart disease
If you have any of the above, please talk to your doctor first. Especially if you are taking blood thinners or antibiotics.
Getting tattooed:
A tattoo is similar to an open wound and a potential source of infection for blood-borne infections such as Hepatitis B and C. The tattooist works hygienically to avoid and minimize the risk of infection. Hygienic approach is also important to avoid your new tattoo becoming infected. Ensure that:
-Before you are tattooed, the skin is washed, disinfected and possibly shaved with a disposable razor.
-Needles and ink are in sterilized containers and used only for you and the needles are packaged separately.
-Clean paper is used to clean your skin during the tattooing session.
-Your tattooist uses gloves and changes them if he touches something else, be it the tattoo machine, paper or your skin.
-The finished tattoo is taken care of and covered.
Aftercare:
Above all, a new tattoo is similar to an open wound, so keep in mind that delayed and unhygienic aftercare can cause infections and scarring. Infections can cause a less beautiful tattoo. If you take good care of your tattoo, it will take two to six weeks for it to heal. The tattooist gives you written instructions about the aftercare. Read these carefully and follow them as closely as you can.
Please discuss any questions with your tattoo artist or a doctor. Read the information below about potential reactions.
Potential reactions
To tattoo is to insert an unknown substance, ink, under your skin. As everyone's body and skin is different and reacts differently to being tattooed, you must keep in mind that situations can arise, such as bruises or infections for example. In rare cases, the body may react with discharge, pooling or an allergy, which may be milder or more severe.
This is an important part of tattoo health risks. In other words, you need to be aware that this is something that can occur and not something that your tattoo artist can prevent. We cannot be held responsible for deviations, but we are of course available for advice and to help you find a solution. If you are worried about your healing, the best option is to first come by the studio, secondly email us or consult a doctor.
Allergy
Allergies can occur to almost anything and an allergy can occur at any time and disappear at any time. If an allergy occurs to tattoo ink, it is usually the red color that you react to. The body's reaction to the color is that it wants to remove it from the body, with various symptoms such as itching, elevation of the skin to not heal the tattoo.
In some people, the ink thins and with this also the symptoms. In rare cases, it can cause problems for several years. Taking antihistamines can often relieve the symptoms temporarily. Outmigration
A discharge is ink that flows out from under the skin and can usually be seen immediately after the tattoo. This occurs when the needle goes too deep into the skin. On some parts of the body where the skin is thinner or bones/joints are quite superficial, this can occur easily.
Irritation
It is possible that your new tattoo will be irritating. It can appear as small red dots/plaques over the skin. This may occur during the first few days. Most likely you have had on plastic film, or aftercare cream that has caused this. Obviously, you haven't done anything wrong, but irritation means that the skin is reacting to something from the outside. You probably have sensitive skin. The best thing to do is to avoid using the cream and keep the area dry and clean, without covering with plastic wrap.
Bruises
For some skin types, bruising is common. Those with this skin type are usually aware of this already. It can be a relief to know that some places on the body bruise more easily than others. For example, below the collarbones is one such place that bruises can occur easily a few seconds after it is tattooed. The most important thing to know is that this is something that can occur and is nothing to worry about.
Pooling
Pooling looks like blue ink that has flowed out from behind the tattoo. At first it may look like a bruise, but unlike these, it does not disappear after a few days.
Infection
You want to avoid an infection by all means. It is never good, but if caught early it can be reversed. You can do this by washing with disinfecting soap three times a day and avoiding using aftercare cream. The goal is to keep the tattoo dry and clean, as bacteria like warm, moist and greasy environments. Mild infections show themselves through a thin redness around the tattoo and that it feels warmer than the surrounding skin.
More severe infections need to be reviewed by a doctor. If the tattoo bulges, oozes white liquid, is swollen, red and/or whitish (as if it has been soaked for a long time), stop using the cream and see a doctor.
Something as simple as touching your new tattoo with your hands without washing them first can cause an infection. Be clean and gentle with the healing of your tattoo.
Clause:
Tattoos are permanent. A complete removal is not possible safely and may involve health risks. Getting a tattoo is literally hurting yourself as you perforate the skin and cause pain and discomfort.
At the time of tattooing, color pigments are injected into the middle skin layer (dermis). With the aging of the skin, the colors and shape of the tattoo may change.
UV rays and sunlight can react to the pigment in the tattoo. Even after years, it can cause irritation, itching or allergic reaction. TO ADD, the tattoo may fade slightly or become blurred. To avoid this, it is important to always protect the tattoo from UV and sun rays in the best possible way. Even with a professionally done tattoo, complications can arise. These include swelling, redness, itching, pain, bruising, inflammation, scarring and circulation problems. Even an infection or intolerance cannot be ruled out and can also occur with improper care of the new tattoo. If complications arise, contact your tattoo artist and seek medical attention immediately for more severe complications. If complications arise that require medical care, health insurance usually does not cover this cost. The end result is partially dependent on each individual's hsu quality and the person's calmness when getting tattooed. The tattoo artist cannot influence these factors and cannot predict possible complications.
I have read, understood and honestly filled out the entire document. I feel healthy and am aware of any potential risks with my tattoo. The tattooist has given me sufficient information regarding the aftercare and satisfactorily answered any questions. I am informed about the color of the tattoo I will be tattooed with.
